2012 Premier Development League Schedule and Alignment Released
2.16.12
TAMPA, Fla. (February 16, 2012) – United Soccer Leagues officially announced the 2012 divisional alignment and schedule for the 2012 season, which will officially commence on April 22nd in Fresno, CA. The PDL will feature a record 73 teams in four geographic conferences and nine divisions. Each club will play a 16 game season, eight home and eight on the road.
Reading United’s season kicks off on Saturday, May 12th against the New Jersey Rangers, the beginning of a stretch that will see them play at least five games in a 15 day span. This span includes their record fourth straight appearance in the U.S. Open Cup, against a regional amateur team that has yet to be determined.
Reading will stay in the Eastern Conference’s Mid Atlantic Division, facing the same foes as last season, with one additional club in the fold. The Baltimore Bohemians make their PDL debut this season, and will face the United twice in the month of June.
Due to the expansion to a ten team division, Reading will no longer face each divisional opponent twice over the course of the season. Getting bumped from this year’s schedule is a trip to face the Bermuda Hogges, as well as a home game against the Westchester Flames.
