Reading United A.C. (9-2-0) will seek to continue their solid play when they host, Jersey Express (4-7-0) at Don Thomas Stadium on Saturday July 8th. This will be the first of two meetings between the two clubs this season.

Reading United is currently in sole position of second place in the Premier Development League Mid-Atlantic Division. United can wrap up a berth in the PDL Playoffs with a win over Jersey. With only three games left, United will look to gain as many points as possible to try to lock up a home playoff date.

Reading United A.C earned a scrappy 2-0 victory over Lehigh Valley United on Wednesday. The United defense earned its fifth shutout of the season, while Marie and Basic scored the goals to give United the win.

Coach Stephen Hogan is looking for his team to make some improvements before Saturday’s match. “ We need to move the ball faster through the midfield, so that more chances can be developed. We also need to finish the chances that we create, and put teams away early rather then later,” Hogan said.

Jersey Express heads to Don Thomas currently sitting in fourth in the division. They are twelve points back of the Ocean City Nor’easters. They are coming off a 2-1 win against Evergreen F.C., which saw Romario Goulaet earn his fourth goal of the season.

Players that have been in good form for both teams are United’s Khori Bennett and Jersey’s Goulart. After returning from injury, Bennett has been on a scoring spree. He has scored two goals in his last three games. He now has a total of four goals on the season. Goulart has scored four goals in six games for Jersey Express.

This match will also be United’s annual Fan Appreciation Night. United will be honoring their fans for a fantastic 2017 campaign.
