Reading United Introduce 2012 Season Jerseys!

READING, PA. (April 16, 2012) – Reading United became more integrated into the Philadelphia Union structure in more than just soccer player development with the announcement Monday evening (on the monthly TV show Reading United Soccer Scene) of a four year partnership with global soccer brand Adidas. Adidas is the official uniform supplier of the Philadelphia Union and Major League Soccer. Adidas will be the official provider of all Reading United gear including game jerseys, warmup jerseys, polo shirts, fleeces, jackets, and camp gear.

Adidas Mid-Atlantic Region sales manager, Bill Harte, explained, “Adidas is the global leader in soccer and partners with the world’s greatest clubs and federations including Chelsea FC, AC Milan, Real Madrid. We are also an official partner of FIFA, UEFA, Major League Soccer and the Confederations of African Football. In addition to these assets we look to partner with minor league teams throughout the United States. The PDL represents some of the best home grown talent and the future for soccer in this country. Our most recent signing with Reading United (PDL) is very exciting for adidas and shows our commitment to soccer at all levels. Reading United has very strong ties to the local community and we look forward to a great partnership over the next couple of years.”

The 2012 Reading United game jerseys will feature Adidas Climalite technology which features a light, breathable fabric that is worn close to the skin to conduct heat and sweat away from the body to keep players cool and dry in warm conditions. Reading United will keep with their established tradition and feature an all white home kit and an all navy away kit. Team colors of navy, gold, charcoal (black) and white are featured throughout the kit. New for 2012 is the club circle logo featured center of chest (similar to parent club Philadelphia Union) with a gold Giorgio logo (team title sponsor) emblazoned across the middle of the shirt front. The jersey backs will feature custom gold adidas numbers and fellow Philadelphia Union partner, YSC Sports, on the middle top of the shirt. The memorial Cloverflash and USL logo will be featured on the left and right arms respectively.

“We are thrilled about our partnership with Adidas”, stated Reading President Art Auchenbach. “Adidas is the premier global soccer brand and we are pleased to represent them in our region. This partnership further ties together the Philadelphia Union development pyramid with YSC, Reading United, and Philadelphia Union all being Adidas organizations. We look forward to promoting and partnering to enhance the adidas brand in the Greater Reading soccer market.” continued Auchenbach.

To kickoff the new partnership, Reading United is offering a presale on the 2012 home (white) and away (blue) jerseys for a preorder price of $49 each. This price will ONLY be available through May 1, 2012, after which they will be sold for the regular season price of $59 each. Reading will be introducing more adidas sponsored merchandise items in the lead up to the 2012 season. Merchandise is available online at http://www.readingunitedac.com/store.html.
