Reading opens up home slate at Gurski Stadium on Saturday evening

READING, PA (May 24, 2019) – After playing their first two league matches on the road, Reading United returns home to the friendly confines of Gurski Stadium for their third match of the season. F.A. Euro comes to town on Saturday evening for a 7pm kickoff against the defending Eastern Conference Champion United. The game will feature “Youth Night”, with any youth soccer player wearing their team jersey receiving free entry. Aidan’s Avengers will also be on hand for the opening night celebration.

Reading has defeated the Brooklyn-based club in their past four meetings, after a divisional shake-up brought the team back into the Mid-Atlantic Conference. Two of those victories came during last season, both games ending with 2-0 scorelines. Reading forward Kieran Roberts scored in the 90th minute to seal the first game, while Nico Solabarrieta notched a brace in the away match.

United come in to this game on top of the divisional table with two early road victories to their credit. The biggest victory was this past Wednesday with a 3-2 victory against New York Red Bulls U23. A late 86th minute winner by Kalil ElMedkhar was the difference, as Reading notched their first-ever road victory against the Red Bulls.

F.A. Euro is currently unbeaten in league play, notching their first victory of the season against Evergreen, then tying Cedar Stars and Ocean City in back-to-back games. The team is sitting in third place in the Mid-Atlantic Division of USL League Two with five points, already halfway to their 2018 total of nine with the bulk of the season remaining.

$5 tickets are available online at readingunitedac.com/tickets, and will jump to $10 at the gate. Season tickets are only $20 and will cover all seven league home games, and are available at the same link.
