The Other Guys:

The Flint City Bucks (11-3-3), out of the Great Lakes Division, will be charging full speed ahead at an attempt to secure their fourth national time in 24 years (2006, 2014, 2016).

Reading United isn’t the only team that has gone to two consecutive finals. The Bucks went back to back, in 2006 and 2007, but only came out on top in one.

Their Journey to the Finals:

The club out of Michigan had to battle their way into the postseason by being victorious in their three closing matches of the regular season. To start their playoff run, they defeated the Des Moines Menace in a nailbiting match that was decided in penalty kicks (4-3).

Flint City went on to battle against Kaw Valley FC for the Central Conference Finals. The Bucks dominated the match as they scored the first two and last two goals. The 4-2 win granted them a spot in the USL League Two Semi-Finals

The Bucks waited until the 78th minute of their Semi-Finals match against FC Golden State Force to knock in the only goal of the game (1-0). The victory lead them to host the USL League Two Finals and taking on Reading United.

Names to Remember:

The Brazilian midfielder, Yuri Farkas Guglielmi, has netted three goals just during the Bucks playoff run. Guglielmi took the hit the pitch 11 games with the Michigan based team. During those matches, he knocked in five goals on 20 shots and tallied two assists.

Andrew Pannenberg, goalkeeper at Wake Forest in the fall, has been a saving grace this season for Flint City. In the three games of the playoffs, Pannenberg only had two goals against, which put him at a 71% save percentage during the playoffs. The regular season was no different, as his save percentage was at 78%, in which he let in eight goals.
