Reading faces off against third-place Real Central New Jersey tonight

READING, PA (June 29, 2022) – Reading United travels to third-place Real Central New Jersey to polish off the team’s road slate for the 2022 season. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. at Mercer County Community College for the second of three meetings between the clubs this season.

RCNJ (4-4-2) and Reading (3-3-4) finished in a 0-0 deadlock in the first meeting, as neither side has scored a win in three meetings. Last year’s games ended in 2-2 and 0-0 finals. The nil-nil draw in 2022 saw Reading largely outplay RCNJ, outshooting the home side 11-4 as Sam Hershey and Isak Sedin both had three shots. Trevor Manion made three stops to preserve the scoreless tie.

Real has won two of its last three games coming into tonight’s match, scoring wins against Mid Atlantic cellar dwellers Philadelphia Lone Star (5-4) and Lehigh Valley United (3-2). In fact, three of the team’s four wins have come against Lone Star. An eye should be kept on Stas Korzeniowski, who leads the squad with six goals and four assists.

Reading enters the contest fresh off a 1-1 tie against division-leading Ocean City on Friday. Ryan Kuster’s 47th minute strike leveled the game for good in the draw. The tie snapped Reading’s two-game pointless streak, sticking them in fourth place in the division - right behind RCNJ.

United returns home in July for a trio of Saturday dates. July 2, 9, and 16 will be filled with soccer action at Alvernia University with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff planned for each contest. Game day tickets for all remaining home dates are available for purchase at readingunitedac.com for just $7+fees or for $10 at the gate.
