Reading seeks to take season series against its neighbors to the north

READING, PA (July 16, 2022) – Reading United finishes off its 2022 campaign against Lehigh Valley United, officially putting a close to a bounceback year for the club. A 7:00 p.m. kickoff awaits at Alvernia University for both sides.

Reading (4-4-5, 17 points) would see a five-point improvement over its 2021 season with a victory over LVU. Reading has traditionally had success against its neighbors to the north - picking up a 3-2 win in the season finale last year, and going 1-0-1 against LVU in 2022. After LVU stole a point at the death in a 1-1 tie in the season opener, Reading overcame a sleepy first half to explode for a 4-1 win at home. Isak Sedin paved the way for the home side, scoring a goal and adding an assist in the victory.

United look to bounce back after a 2-1 loss to Real Central New Jersey last Saturday evening. Despite outshooting the visitors 15-9 in the contest, a 69th minute goal made all the difference - launching RCNJ into third place in the Mid Atlantic Division.

Lehigh Valley (1-11-1, 4 points) slumps in with five straight losses, and just three points to their credit after the season-opening draw against Reading. LVU’s latest setback was a 4-1 thumping by Real Central New Jersey. Lehigh has shown to be stronger as the year has gone on, comparatively speaking - scoring 12 of its 19 goals in the past six games after finding twine just seven times in as many games to start the season.

Game day tickets for the final home game of the season are available for purchase at readingunitedac.com for just $7+fees or for $10 at the gate.
