Reading United Announces Returning Local Players for 2023 USL2 Season

Bhogal, Hajj, Hershey and Kuster Returning for 2023 Season

READING, PA (April 28, 2023) –  Reading United A.C. is thrilled to welcome back four of its top players with local ties from their 2022 USL2 season. These returning players include Berks County natives, Ammit Bhogal and Alex Hajj, as well as Sam Hershey (Lancaster , PA) and Ryan Kuster (Alvernia University).

Bhogal and Hajj, both hailing from Berks County, are sure to bring their local pride and talent to the team. Kuster and Bhogal both played for the Alvernia University men's soccer team, while Hajj played for Monmouth University soccer team. Bhogal is currently at Mount Saint Mary’s pursuing his graduate degree.  Hershey, the PSAC 2021 Rookie of the Year,  transferred from Lock Haven University (NCAA D2) to American University (NCAA D1) for the 2023 season.

Coach Casey More expressed his excitement for these players to return, stating, "Having these four players back on the team for the 2023 season is a great advantage for us. These players were some of our top performers in the 2022 season and having them back will provide us with a strong foundation to build on. They bring experience, skill, and a passion for the game that is unmatched."

 

Bhogal, Hajj, Hershey and Kuster, were also among the players with the most minutes played in the 2022 season, proving their dedication to the sport and their team.

The four players featured in 41 games, logging over 2700 game-time minutes.  Ryan Kuster led the team in goals with three, followed by Alex Hajj’s and Sam Hershey’s 2 goals and one assist each.

Reading United AC is looking forward to a successful 2023 USL2 season with these talented players back on the field.
