Drew University and Monmouth University Players to Call Reading Home

READING, Pennsylvania (April 25, 2024) - Two players from Drew University (Molly Kuhn & Sarah Crowley) and two players from Monmouth University (Cadie Hoke & Loren Gehret) will feature for Reading United this summer.  Less than hour apart along the Garden State Parkway, the two schools feature four players with local ties who will look to make their mark on the 2024 squad.

Wyomissing HS graduate Molly Kuhn and JP McCaskey graduate Sarah Crowley will look to make their mark on the 2024 Reading United WPSL squad.  Kuhn, a Drew University sophomore who was a CSC Academic All District nominee featured in 19 games for Drew last fall is looking to continue her strong WPSL performance from last year.  Kuhn was a bit of a “super sub” in Reading’s WPSL inaugural season often providing a spark to ignite the Reading offense with her tireless work rate and timely goals and assists.  She’ll be joined by WPSL newcomer and Drew University teammate Sarah Crowley this summer.  The freshman Crowley was a stalwart in net for Drew last fall, playing and starting in all 20 of Drew’s games. She faced 212 shots and ended her freshman campaign with a 1.37 GAA.  Crowley was an All-Landmark Conference team nominee and Co-Rookie of the Year.

Coach Gosselin is excited to see what the Drew teammates add this summer, stating, “Molly played such an integral role last season in her energy and statistically she scored some big goals for us.  New comer Sarah will look to hold down our goal and she comes so highly recommended by so many coaches."

Not to be outdone by their Division 3 sisters Division 1 Monmouth University will also feature a pair of players in Reading this summer.  Two Monmouth freshman, Cadie Hoke of Wyomissing, PA (Wyomissing Area HS) and Chloe Gehret of Elysburg, PA (Southern Columbia HS) will look to challenge for playing time.  Hoke, a defensive midfielder only featured in two Monmouth games last fall after recovery from an injury in practice last summer.  Cadie was a three time All Berks selection during her time at Wyomissing where she helped the team to three district championships and two Berks County championships.  She will be joined by her Monmouth teammate Loren Gehret who was an All-CAA Third Team selection and 2023 CAA All Rookie Team nominee.  Her Southern Columbia HS team knocked out Cadie Hoke’s Wyomissing HS team in the 2022 state soccer tournament.  While at Southern Columbia Gehret scored 140 career goals, was a three time All-State, three time All-Region, two time All American and was named PA State HS Player of the Year.

Gosselin praised the potential of the Monmouth duo, saying, “New comers, Hoke and Gehret from Monmouth bring some new energy to both sides of the field.  Hoke a CB and Defensive MF is a strong and experienced defender and Gehret is a proven goal scorer.  I look forward to adding them to this strong squad."
