Collin McCamy – CM – RKC Third Coast

McCamy is a complete modern midfielder for RKC Third Coast with strong physical abilities and great positioning. He knows when to cover ground, play a weighted pass and can do both defensive and offensive phases, with an eye for goal from outside of the eighteen. The 21-year-old North Carolina FC Academy product is an exciting prospect for this summer’s League Two season.

Enzo Carvalho – GK – Des Moines Menace

Carvalho gets up for the big saves. The Brazilian has excellent footwork, knows how to read the game and dictates the Menace’s tempo through his distribution out of the back. His 6’5 height allows him to cover the frame well, making him a strong presence and reference point for his back line.

Yaniv Bazini – CF – Vermont Green FC

Bazini is an athletic number nine with an ability to adapt as a winger during the 90 minutes due to his technicality and versatility. He’s a forward who’s good on the ball and able to lead the Green’s offensive department in the final third against strong League Two defenses, becoming somewhat of a Virtue Field legend between his college and League Two careers.

Alec Hughes – CF – Western Mass Pioneers

Hughes is a forward who likes to take on defenders and give his team speed and agility in the opponent’s half. With five goals in four games, he senses the goal, threatens backlines and is opportunistic with his chances.

Israel Neto – LW – Hudson Valley Hammers

The Hammers have come out firing in 2024, and Neto is a big reason why. He’s got a tall and lean frame that wouldn’t normally lead one to think of a winger, but his agility, fluidity and nose for goal set him apart. He dominates the half spaces, and sometimes drifts centrally to provide an extra striking option.

JP Jordan – CM – Sarasota Paradise

A pure engine in midfield. JP Jordan controls the flow of play, and for the Paradise, nothing happens without his say-so. He’s intelligent, solid in the air, and tidy in possession. He will wreck the opposing attack if it comes anywhere near him – so it’s often been best practice to just stay away. Jordan gets stronger every day, and the Paradise have another gem in midfield.

Taketo Onodera – CM – Ballard FC

A midfielder that was in the fringes of the starting XI for Ballard last year, Onodera has added something since a fateful semifinal matchup against Flint City Bucks: goals. A midfielder that was already appreciated for his work rate, intelligence, strength and passing now has the ability to uncork thunderbolts in the run of play, and can turn a match on its head in an instant.

Giovanni Calderon – CB – Ventura County Fusion

Gio Calderon can be primarily boiled down to one leading attribute: Leadership. He’s worn the captain’s armband for Ventura County Fusion since 2022, despite only being 22 years old now. He started the League Two Final that saw the Fusion lift their second title, and has appeared seven times for the Puerto Rico National Team. He’s comfortable with both feet, poised, tall, and strong. The only thing left for him to truly add is to be a goalscoring threat in the air on corners and free kicks.

Christian Shannon – CB – Midwest United FC

Midwest United have been the best team in the Great Lakes Division to start this season, and there’s no arguing that a young Shannon has been a massive part of that success. United have kept five clean sheets in their eight matches, with the only dropped points coming in a 0-0 draw back on May 11. After a season in which he didn’t play for Western Michigan, he’s seizing his opportunity in the spotlight in League Two.

Fabio Rodrigues – RB – Brave SC

On a roster that skews older, Fabio Rodrigues has stood out as a defender that has yet to turn 23 years old. Brave have only conceded two goals all season – the same number of goals that Rodrigues scored against Brevard SC in the club’s most recent outing. If he can continue to be an element in their attack, the normally-robust Buffaloes will compete in the Southeast Division again in 2024.
