READING, PA (February 10, 2016) – Reading United A.C. and the Premier Development League announced today the club’s schedule for the 2017 campaign. United begin their defense of the Mid-Atlantic Division crown with a home match against local rivals Lehigh Valley United on Saturday, May 13th at Exeter High School’s Don Thomas Stadium.
The Premier Development League has consistently proven to be the developmental leader in U.S. Soccer. The PDL provides elite collegiate soccer players the opportunity to taste a higher level of competition and continue their developmental path towards a career in professional soccer. In 2017, 59 PDL alums were selected at the Major League Soccer SuperDraft, which represents 73 percent of the total players drafted.

Expectations will again be very high for Coach Hogan and his squad as they will look to build upon last season’s progress.
The 14 match schedule sees Reading play seven matches at home and seven road games across May, June and July. United will face their long-time rivals the Ocean City Nor’easters three times, including twice at home. The series will be punctuated with a home and home series (June 23rd at Reading, July 1st at Ocean City) that will have major implications on the division title race. Reading and Lehigh Valley will clash three times, with United ending the regular season on the road in Allentown on Saturday, July 15th.
United will also face divisional opponents F.A. Euro, New York Red Bulls U23, the Evergreen Hammers and the Jersey Express in home matches at Don Thomas Stadium.
