READING, PA (May 26, 2017) – Seeking a return to winning ways, Reading United A.C. (1-1-0) return to the friendly confines of Exeter High School’s Don Thomas Stadium for their Premier Development League match against F.A. Euro New York (1-2-0) on Saturday, May 27th at 7:30pm.

United enter the match after suffering their first setback of the 2017 campaign, a 3-2 defeat on the road against New York Red Bulls U23. Hugo Delhommelle continued his torrid start to the season as he scored from the penalty spot and while Jerome Williams came off the bench to score his first goal in a Reading United jersey.

Reading will want to get back on track as the match against F.A. Euro begins a busy stretch of four games in eleven days for Head Coach Stephen Hogan’s squad. United currently sit in fourth place in the Mid-Atlantic Division after two league matches and will be eager to begin climbing the standings with a good performance against their visitors from New York.

United’s offense has been in excellent form through the first four matches of 2017, scoring an average of two and half goals per game. Frantzdy Pierrot, who missed out on the match against the Red Bulls U23s while nursing an injury, leads the team with three goals in 2017. Delhommelle has been the creator for Reading’s attack with four assists in as many games.

F.A. Euro head to Don Thomas Stadium even on points with Reading. Though the Brooklyn, New York based club scored a 2-0 victory in their season opening win over Evergreen FC, they come into the match against Reading on a 220 minute scoreless streak. In their match on Thursday evening, F.A. Euro dropped a 1-0 result to the division leading Ocean City Nor’easters. The visitors will be without head coach Joe Balsamo and veteran forward Adam Marcu after they were ejected for arguing with the officials during the loss to Ocean City.

Reading United will host the Harrisburg City Islanders in the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 31st at Exeter’s Don Thomas Stadium. The match will coincide with the 2017 Philadelphia Union Festival, with appearances by Union players and coaches. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm with tickets available online.
