WEST READING, PA (May 4, 2018) – Reading United A.C. and Broken Chair Brewery are proud to announce a collaboration beer for the 2018 season. Broken Chair will honor our soccer club with the Reading United ManGOOOAAALLL Wheat, a 5.8% ABV wheat beer with notes of mango and malt.

The beer will be tapped for the first time on May 10th during a Coaching Q&A session to be held at the brewery from 7:00-9:00pm. Fans who purchase a 12 ounce or 16 ounce pour of the collaboration will receive a ticket to an upcoming Reading United home game.

“Broken Chair Brewery is proud to announce a collaboration beer with a local team like Reading United,” said Todd Bray, owner of the newest brewery in West Reading. “The beer will be named after Reading United, who we are excited to support during their 2018 PDL season.”

Reading United’s Director of Franchise Development, Ryan Lineaweaver, stated “We are always looking at new ways to promote our club. The collaboration with Broken Chair is something that is unique to not only our league, but the Greater Reading area as a whole. We are thrilled to partner with a local brewery that has been a fantastic new addition to our community.”

Broken Chair Brewery opened last November on West Reading’s vibrant Penn Avenue corridor. After years of home brewing, Todd Bray decided to take their beer to the next level and open a storefront. The warm and relaxing atmosphere at the brewery is highlighted by brick walls with wood accents in the front, leading back to the stainless steel 2 BBL brewing system in the rear of the building. The brewery boasts the ability to carry 16 of their own beers on tap, and is constantly rotating in new varieties.

The Q&A session with our coaching staff will be held after Reading United’s first match of 2018, a U.S. Open Cup first round match against Maryland amateur powerhouse Christos FC on Wednesday, May 9th at 7:00pm. The match, hosted by Alvernia University, will be played at the all-new Alvernia University Stadium in Reading. Fans twenty-one and older can chat with new Reading United coaches Alan McCann, Mark Hanlon and Shane Keely about all things soccer related while trying the new Reading United inspired beer.

Reading United begin their 2018 PDL schedule on Saturday, May 12th at 7:00pm when they travel to Allentown to face Lehigh Valley United. United open their 2018 home schedule on Saturday, May 26th, hosting FA Euro at Wilson High School’s Gurski Stadium in a 7:00pm kickoff.
