We are going back to roots this upcoming season. Back to local, homegrown talent. Back to showcasing the best talent that our local area has to offer. Reading, Lancaster, York, Allentown, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, and everything in between.

"But wait, didn't you recruit players from all over the world to come to Reading for the summer?" Heck yeah, we did. And we were pretty good at it, too. A "126-21-31 with 11 playoff appearances in 12 seasons" type of good. "Two straight trips to the USL League Two Finals" type of good. "Playing the New York Red Bulls in the US Open Cup" type of good.

This upcoming season has given us the opportunity to reset and refocus our efforts on improving the level of soccer in Berks County and beyond. To utilize our platform as a premier U23 team in all of North America to showcase the best that our local talent has to offer.

What's in it for you?

Exposure to scouts and professional teams across North America and the entire world. We have 145 former players who have either gone on to play professionally, be drafted by an MLS club, or represent their country on the international stage. We have receipts (readingunitedac.com/alumni and readingunitedac.com/superdraft).

Exposure on social media. We had over 3.5 million interactions on our social media pages. Get your name out there and cut through the noise. We'll get you views. Plus, we'll have a ton of pictures for you to post all over your social media to show what a soccer playing badass you are.

Top level, local soccer. We're focusing on players who are dedicated to taking that next step. Not players who think of soccer as a hobby, but players who think of this as a stepping stone to a job. We take our job seriously to give you the tools to play professional soccer - we're looking for players who do the same. This team will have high level training once per day, playing a 14 game regular season schedule between May and July. We expect a high level of soccer out of any team wearing the Reading United crest.

The $80 registration covers all four tryouts. You can attend one, or you can attend all four.

Please note: Depending on the number of registrations, we may limit the number of players attending future 2021 tryouts. We want attendees to get as many touches on the ball as possible during tryouts, so if we've seen all we need to see from you, we'll be in touch.

Also: We are primarily looking for LOCAL players to Pennsylvania. We will not be assisting with housing this year due to COVID. If you were to be selected, you would be responsible for your own transportation and housing.
